The Increasing Educator Diversity Scholarship and Fee Reimbursement Opportunity is designed to provide monetary awards to candidates of color attending state-approved educator preparation programs leading to initial Connecticut teacher certification with the intention to teach in Connecticut.
This opportunity offers two ways for educator candidates to receive financial support for completing their certification requirements:
Scholarships of up to $2,000 will be awarded to up to 22 eligible candidates who are enrolled in or recently completed a state-approved certification program.
Fee reimbursement provides support for assessment fees and other fees related to certification up to $200.
SCHOLARSHIP PRIORITY:
*Scholarships will be given to current seniors or candidates who will complete their Connecticut State Board of Education approved - traditional or alternate routes - educator preparation program in the Fall 2022 academic year, and no later than November 15, 2022. As scholarships will be reimbursements for tuition that has already been paid, enrollment verification or proof of program completion will be required. This opportunity is only for Summer and Fall 2022 graduates. There will be another opportunity for 2023 graduates in the Spring 2023 semester.
