Student-Centered Assessment for Learning (SCALE)

SCALE is a statewide professional learning, coaching, and technical assistance program to strengthen the capacity of teachers and leaders to design, implement, and sustain balanced (aka sensible) assessment systems that accelerate student learning.

All Connecticut school districts completed the state's comprehensive audit of district assessments. The district-specific reports will be emailed to Superintendents on March 1, 2026.

Phase 1: District Assessment Audit Webinar Series

All districts and school leaders are encouraged to register for a 2-part webinar series to learn about the state findings and how to understand, interpret and act on their District-Specific Inventory Reports. This multipart series kicks off the multi-year SCALE initiative.

The webinar series and the accompanying District-Specific Assessment Inventory Reports will support district teams in asking and answering questions such as:

  • How frequently are we assessing students at the district and school level?

Regional Educational Service Centers (RESCs) are nonprofit, fee-for-service, public education agencies.Their mission is to provide quality, cost-effective education resources, programs, and services to the state’s public schools. The RESC Alliance exists to create greater access to resources and savings for all Connecticut public schools.
