Virtual Pre-Recruitment Fair

The CSDE-RESC Alliance Increasing Educator Diversity Virtual Pre-Recruitment Fair held on April 28, 2022 provided a professional development opportunity to school administrators and hiring managers to attend panel discussions and workshops to learn more about current efforts, strategies, policies and research to increase the diversity of the educator workforce in Connecticut. Session I – Equitable Hiring Practices: How to Recruit and Retain Diverse Staff  

This session will provide school staff with strategies to assist them in hiring and to inform candidates about hiring practices and prepare them for interview questions.

Session II – Addressing the Teacher Shortage: What You Need To Know About Teacher Certification and Flexibility in Hiring 

This session will focus on changes in requirements for certification that districts and candidates will need to know and a discussion of the teacher shortage areas in CT to inform candidates of important opportunities as well as other opportunities for cross-endorsements.
